Equipment for the Secondary School in Téréli
In 2007 Téréli Secondary School was built. (Building of School)
During the last year essential work has been completed at the school. A toilet block, office for the director and installation of a solar panel has made a great difference. New furniture for the classrooms has been delivered.
The director of the secondary school, Issiaka Tembine, was keen to establish a school garden so that produce could be grown to supplement the meal provided during the day.
In this hot climate trees are very important. Many youngsters have been involved in the planting of trees near the school. In addition trees planted in the school garden will help provide shade for the vegetables.
We have worked very closely with Coup de Pouce, a charity in Le Havre, France (more) and A.E.E.R.T.P.S. our partners in Mali.
Special thanks go to The Hilden Charitable Fund for the grant of £5,000 and to St. Mary‘s Parish Church in Burley for £1,000
Zakari Saye has also been very involved with
this project. He is sincerely grateful for all the help and has written to thank
everyone involved.
Many people will remember his visit to Burley for 3 weeks in
2009.Zakari visits Burley)
